I have recently purchased a new home, what do I need to do?

Make sure the deed has been filed for the property. Then, if this is your primary residence, come to the Assessor’s office to file homestead exemption and/or the 100% Disabled Veteran’s Exemption at any point throughout the year which will be applied to the qualifying year. Additional homestead exemption or the senior valuation freeze can only be filed, if applicable, between January 1 and March 15.
